Did you know you have belief systems running in your head that might be limiting your ability to achieve your dreams and have the professional happiness you crave?
These belief systems develop over your lifetime through experiences, good and bad, that shape your view of the world. They run constantly in the background, influencing every choice you make from what to wear, what to say and how to act.
Your belief systems about yourself and the world around you can either limit or expand your experience.
Limiting beliefs often start with good intentions to protect you from harm and keep you safe, but they can linger past the point of being helpful. When this happens they restrict you from the flow of abundance, love and beauty you crave.
These limiting beliefs are tricky bastards, too.
They can grip so tight that it can be really hard to see them. And when you are just about to close in on them, they dodge, they weave and they morph into something just a little bit different. They get angry when you try to dissolve them. They tell you not to let go of them, otherwise you could get hurt. "It wouldn't be safe," they say.
"The process of weakening a false thought is a little like losing a baby tooth; at first, you may only feel a tiny bit of “give,” a slight wiggle away from rigid belief and constant emotional pain. But as the mind turns its energy to dis-proving a painful thought, rather than proving it over and over again, the wiggling becomes more pronounced. You feel freer and freer, until one day you forget you ever believed something that is now obviously untrue." ~ Martha Beck
Confronted with my own limiting beliefs I saw how tight I was gripping them and how much they were standing in my way from achieving my goals.
Once I shed some light on them and started to replace them with new and better beliefs, my life expanded. Of course, I discovered more limiting beliefs I needed to work on, but hey, it's all a practice!
